Sayyidi al-Habib `Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) recommends reciting la ilaha ill’Allah 70,000 times in Ramadan.
The one who recites la ilaha ill’Allah 70,000 times frees himself from the Fire. It can be recited 500 times after each obligatory prayer which would make the total 2,500 every day. If you stick to this you will have recited it 70,000 times by the end of the month. Through reciting it, may Allah make us among the people of la ilaha ill’Allah and may it be a means of pleasing Him and deflecting tribulation.
Is there a specific dhikr which we should read in Ramadan?
We should recite the Qur’an in abundance. We should turn to Allah to seek relief for the suffering of the Muslims, since Badr and the Conquest of Makkah took place in Ramadan. We should also plead with Allah in abundance that he rectifies our individual states.

Is there a specific dhikr which we should read in Ramadan?
We should read the dua of Ramadan 3,000 times at least:
أشْهَدُ أن لا إلهَ إلا الله نَسْتَغْفِرُ الله نسأَلُكَ الجنَّةَ ونَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ النَّار
Ashhadu allā ilahā ill’Allāh nastaghfirullāh nas`aluk’al-jannata wa na`ūdhu bika minannār.
‘I testify that there is no deity save Allah and we seek the forgiveness of Allah. We ask You for Paradise and seek refuge in You from the Fire.’
اللهمَّ إنَّكَ عَفُوٌ تُحِبُّ العَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنَّا(3) يا كَرِيم
Allahumma innaka `afuwun tuhibbu-l’`afwa f`afwa `anna
“O Allah, truly You are all-Pardoning, You love to pardon so pardon us” (3 times). On the third time say “O Most Generous” (Ya Karim).]
Allah give us the biggest portion of all goodness. Make Ramadan a cause of rectification and the removal of tribulations. Your Prophet would expend great efforts in worship in Ramadan, and particularly in the last ten days, so emulate your Prophet ﷺ. Beware of striving at the beginning of the month and then becoming lazy towards the end, as “actions are judged by their endings.”
